In 2006, a group of professional and successful African American men identified a need for mentorship for young black men and women in the Greater Fort Smith Region. There are many young men and women who do not have a positive male role model in their lives. Therefore, the Fort Smith Roundtable exists to assist young men and women through positive intellectual and emotional development with the support of productive, enlighten, educated & civic-minded adult men.

Young men and women, require ongoing assessment of current social environment standards in the areas of business, politics, finances & community. (I.e. coping skills, career goals, & direction.)

Our membership serves as a mentor to these young men and women. Each mentor/mentee relationship is unique to the commitment and needs of the mentee. Types of mentoring include teaching, training, coaching, serving as a positive role model, networking, encourager, protector and sponsor.

Ceremony of Achievement Members of the Fort Smith Roundtable recognize the hard work and dedication of outstanding people within the Fort Smith community at the annual "Certificate of Achievement Ceremony." This ceremony is a special day in which the organization honors the remarkable accomplishments and contributions of persons in their careers and community service. This event provides the opportunity to socially recognize people in a manner outside of normal business practice and channels.
